The ocean blue color is vivid and even, there are no bubbles or other formation defects in the tiles I received, and the ripple effect is gorgeous. The cuts on each tile are smooth and perpendicular, with no slivers or nasty bits. One face is smooth (the ripple effect does show through) and the other face has differences in thickness that create the ripple effect. Light shines straight through the tiles when hanging suspended, and also shines sideways when set on a hard surface — the underlying surface does show up if there’s a design on it.Two of the tiles I received were damaged but I’m not taking off any stars for that — the package clearly had a rough trip. (A wooden item in the same envelope outer package was dented.) The tiles are in a sturdy plastic box with a soft foam layer under the lid, and the fit is tight so they don’t slide around. I mention the damage because of the way the tiles fractured, which I think is a plus. None of the edges were ragged and none of the chips were little daggers — fairly finger friendly. The rhombus cracked across in two pieces with a wavy “fault line” and the pieces fit together perfectly. The edges aren’t totally perpendicular to the flat side but when I put them together, I literally couldn’t see the break. One rectangle had some chips on one long edge, very minor — I’m likely to use it as is, the flaws are so small. I’m favorably impressed with how the tiles survived a hard whack during transit, and with how non-dangerous the edges and chips were.I’m delighted with these tiles and recommend them for beauty, quality, and safety.
