Does what I purchased it for, to write on plastic plant markers outside. Tips are thick and soft, so it’s impossible to write very clearly or include much more than an abbreviation of the plant name on the marker. You have to write big. Do love that they have a turn mechanism at the top to let out exactly the length you want and, unlike those that you unwind the paper wrapper to expose more wax, you can let these out just a tiny bit and eliminate breakage. I like the pocket clip, which I sometimes clip to the side of a pot while I’m in the garden. I’ve even left them out in the rain–no problems with that. I am going to continue my search for the perfect marking pen for outdoor plant markers (maybe a paint marker?) and will probably use these for marking larger containers indoors, such as my homemade detergents and cleaning products, or larger containers in the garage. These would be perfect for larger surfaces, just not for plant markers. No need to deduct stars because these are good markers. Just not for my intended use.
