After working on top of a small building a month ago, and needing a glue gun for a few minutes, it would have been nice to pull this cordless one out instead of dealing with an extension cord. Never again, I thought, as I pressed the ORDER button.Shipment and delivery took just 2 days. Which was surprising because the package arrived 3 days earlier than estimated. Everything looked to be in good order. The gun’s internal battery had a bit of a charge so I tried it out right away. This one uses glue sticks which have a larger diameter than the ones my long-time glue gun uses. But, no problem because they fixed me up with 30 sticks. On my experience with the glue sticks: The zip-lock bag containing the glue sticks had a defect and the closed end wasn’t closed properly. This resulted in a good number of the sticks spilling out on to the table and floor. A sandwich-sized zip-lock resolved that issue. YMMV.I checked the amount of time that elapsed before glue was flowing from the gun’s tip. It was around 2 minutes. The instructions recommend 4 minutes of warm-up time. These times are longer than my plug-in gun.Otherwise, the convenience of not having a cord to deal with will be partially offset by the size of this gun. The tip is also broader and will have more difficulty in getting into tight spaces. So, there are some trade-offs involved in order to ditch the cord. The instructions are a rather odd collection of poorly written (translated?) warnings at the expense of useful info. It seems to me that clarification might be in order. Basically, charge it, insert glue stick (slight effort required), slide power switch to ON, wait 4 minutes, dispense glue by pulling trigger. Don’t burn yourself or anything else. Allow the gun to cool fully before putting it away. The trigger “pull” is adjustable by means of a screw and jamb nut which adjusts the position of the trigger relative to the handle. (Similar to the way some hose nozzles operate.)
