Description Introduction What BANDRONE is used for? BANDRONE is used, To treat or prevent osteoporosis in women after menopause In adults with breast cancer that has spread to bones Warning & Precautions Talk to your Doctor, if you: Are allergic to Ibandronate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine Have certain problems with your esophagus, the tube that connects your mouth with your stomach Have low levels of calcium in your blood Have problems with swallowing, stomach or digestive problems Plan to have dental surgery or teeth removed Have kidney problems Have trouble absorbing minerals in your stomach or intestines (malabsorption syndrome) Pregnancy & Breast Feeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine Children & Adolescents BANDRONE should not be used in children below 18 years of age Interactions Tell your doctor if you are taking, Supplements containing calcium, magnesium, iron or aluminium Ibuprofen or naproxen used to treat pain and inflammation Gentamicin type of antibiotic injection Ranitidine used to reduce stomach acid How to Use Take BANDRONE exactly as your doctor tells you Take BANDRONE, after you get up for the day and before taking your first food, drink, or other medicine Avoid lying down for at least 60 minutes after taking BANDRONE Do not chew Swallow with a full glass of plain water If you take more BANDRONE If you take too much BANDRONE, contact your doctor immediately Do not lie down or try to vomit If you forget to take BANDRONE If you miss a dose of BANDRONE, do not take it later in the day. Call your doctor for advice If you stop taking BANDRONE Do not stop taking BANDRONE without consulting your doctor Side Effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them Serious Low calcium levels in your blood (hypocalcemia) Bone, joint or muscle pain Spasms, twitches, or cramps in your muscles Numbness Severe jaw bone problems (osteonecrosis) Unusual thigh bone fractures Irritation, inflammation, or ulcers of the esophagus which may sometimes bleed Tingling in your fingers, toes, or around your mouth Common Back pain Heartburn Abdomen pain Pain in your arms and legs Diarrhea Headache Muscle pain Flu-like symptoms Allergic reactions, such as hives, breathing difficulties, swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat, or feeling dizzy Uncommon Chest pain Itching or tingling skin (paraesthesia) Flu-like symptoms, feeling generally unwell or in pain Dry mouth, strange taste in your mouth or difficulty swallowing Anaemia High levels of urea or high levels of parathyroid hormone in your blood Rare Eye pain or inflammation Unusual fracture of the thigh bone particularly in patients on long-term treatment Pain, weakness or discomfort in your thigh, hip or groin as this may be an early indication of a possible fracture of the thigh bone Very Rare A condition involving exposed bone in the mouth called osteonecrosis of the jaw More Information Storage Store BANDRONE at room temperature (15-25ºC) Keep in a tightly closed container Keep BANDRONE out of the reach of children Do not use this medicine after the expiry date Disclaimer: The contents of this website are for informational purposes only and not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
